France 1972 MNH Mi 1804 Sc 1350 World Bicycling Championships, Marseille, was an event which took place in Marseille, France on October 9th-10th, 1972. The event was the first time that a bike race was held in the city and is considered to be one of the most important bike races of all time. The event saw the participation of some of the greatest cyclists of the era such as Bernard Kuebler, Jacques Anquetil and Jean-Claude Colin. The race was won by Belgian Hugo Boss who pulled off a spectacular ride on his MTB bike.
